After a harried week of working in California, I touched down last week in Virginia around 5:00 Friday -- just an hour before the final neighborhood happy hour of the summer. Determined to play with acai spirits and flavors this week, I paired the subtle flavor of acai spirits with sweet acai juice cut with lemon. It was a risk -- I had not tasted the drink before the first itme I mixed it at the hosts' home -- but it paid off. I heard more than once it was the best of the summer.
Acai of Releif
2 oz acai liquor (such as Veev)
1 oz acai berry juice
1 oz lemon-lime soda
Juice of 1/4 lemon
Stir ingredients together with ice. Garnish with a wedge of lemon.
