Blackberry Syrup

1 pint fresh blackberries
4 T sugar
3 T water

Combine ingredients in a small saucepan over mdeium-low heat, stirring frequently, until the berries render their juices, about 10 - 15 minutes. Transfer to a fine mesh strainer over a bowl. Using a rubber spatula, press and scrape the mixture until only seeds and skins remain. Yields about 4 oz.
